My Songs!!! :D Now you can listen if you Want!!!

Ok, so I realize that this is my second post today, and usually I don't do this sort of thing, but I just found a place where I can upload songs that I've written and recorded.  Now, admittedly I only have two of my songs proffesionally recorded, and that was done several years ago... so the voices sound rather young.

The first song is called "Good Morning My Songbirds", and the second is titled "Summer Tales".  They are sung by me and my younger sister.  Usually I sing the first verse or so and then fall into harmony while she carries on with the melody.

I must say now, I'm not as excited with how "Summer Tales" turned out as I am with  "Good Morning My Songbirds".  I feel like "Summer Tales" is slightly under pitch, and it bothers me.  But until I can get my hands on a remix, it's all I have so... *shrug*

If you would like to listen to my songs, you can play them here.  Then please, please, please let me know what you think of them!!! :D

You have a lovely voice, Nicole. I especially liked "Good Morning My Songbirds." The addition of the flute harmony halfway through complemented the song, like a bird joining in.

Thank you, Jeleh. :) I'm so glad you like them! Yeah, I prefer "Good Morning My Songbirds" too... the mix of "Summer Tales" just needs to be re-done in my oppinion, but I think my friend who was helping me with it just moved to Chicago. :( He said he was planning to, so I don't know if I'll ever get another mix now.

Oh well. I'm so glad you liked them! Thank you for commenting. :D

Sounds excellent! I love "Good Morning My Songbirds" the best, but "Summer Tales" is good too :-) Did you play the flute? You have a nice voice; do you do lots of singing?

Oo right, and another question, what kind of program did you use to do the recording? I used to use Audacity but I find it is kinda hard to work with.

To be quite honest, I don't know what program he used: he didn't tell me. :(
I guess I should have asked him, because now I want to do it for myself and I don't know how. Audacity, did you say? I might have to check it out.

Wait... you record? Could I hear something? That would be so cool!!! :D

And yeah, my whole family sings. I taught myself to play guitar at 14 and I write a lot of songs, but most of them are lullabies, filk, and modern folk. I LOVE that kind of music. Oh yeah, and I didn't play that flute: that was added by a friend. :)

I did a wee bit of recording but I stopped because Audacity was a pain for me :P I can't actually release my voice (lol) onto the web. I don't want to give out too much personal information and although releasing a recording would be cool I just don't think it's something I'll be doing for a little while yet; but if I do post something I'll let you know :)

That's cool that your family is musically inclined :P I have sung publicly for about 11 years now, although I've been singing ever since I was 2 lol :P I take lessons from a classical voice instructor; I also play the piano (voice and piano are at grade 8 level). Gah I hate exams XD

I also play the flute, guitar, harmonica, penny whistle, and some other odds and ends; but I don't play them very well. I just kinda self-teach myself, for fun :)

Nikie!!! OH MY GOSH!... Those songs are AMAZING! But ironically enough, My favorite is "Summer Tales". Can you believe that? Everybody else likes the other one more, but summer tales... there's something about that one. If and when you get a CD made or copied, please, please, please don't forget to give me a copy! If it's possible to copy those songs onto a cd I would like that a lot. You, Kayley and I need to hang out real soon. We need to catch up on some things.

Love ya,

Yazzie!!!! Love you so much! And I'm so glad you liked them; I really am. My goal is to someday have a CD, but I have so many goals right now that I have no idea when that might happen. :)

Squeaks: Yeah, I understand completely about not putting too much personal information up on the internet. I've only just recently gotten brave enough to do anything like this. :D I play the guitar, the recorder, the alpine dulcimer, and the autoharp, but mostly the guitar. I want to play the piano sooo..... badly, but I have to wait until next spring to learn. :(

Well, yeah, if you ever do decide to post your songs, please don't forget to tell me about it. I would LOVE to hear them. :)
